Thoughts are the seeds; they grow to words and fruit in actions with countless seeds same as the first seed. Compassion is the best seed to plant in each moment. This is how selfless service, caring and love is the Art of living. Mothers, the first companions are the first artists. -By Yazdan Raees @ Spice Market | Istanbul - Turkey

Rumi's Love

The people of this world are like the three butterflies in front of a candle's flame. The first one went closer and said: I know about love. The second one touched the flame lightly with his wings and said: I know how love's fire can burn. The third one threw himself into the heart of the flame and was consumed. He alone knows what true love is. Favorite Quotes from Bab 'Aziz. -By Soheyla Parviz @ Arambol Beach | Goa - India

Rumi says, "All is the beloved and lover is the curtain, alive is the beloved and lifeless the lover." Life has a secret and that can be revealed by becoming aware of the continuous cycle of birth and death in each phenomenon in the nature, in and around you. -By Soheyla Parviz @ Cherai Beach | Kerala - India

An aware and balanced mind, a pure mind is required to walk on the path. To be able to go deep you need to practice within the framework of the body that is the inner world but the result can be seen in the parallel worlds: outer world around you and the metaphysic world after death. Watch for the evidences of transformation in the nature, in you and around you. You need to experience it by yourself. "Do not accept it because any book, anybody or any teacher said so. Develop your own wisdom and this only takes you to the final goal of full liberation. Be happy.. be peaceful.. be liberated.." S.N.Goenka. -By Soheyla Parviz @ Mysore | Karnataka - India

Everything in you and around is so impermanent and constantly changing. Arising, passing away, law of nature is such. Moment to moment becoming aware of now, experience this truth within and develop your own wisdom. -By Yazdan Raees @ Peace Pagoda | Pokhara - Nepal

Wise knows that everything is getting done by the nature; he becomes empty from himself so that the truth pours into him. He compassionately loves and selflessly serves and cares. He sees the light in every particle and keeps on sweeping the mirror within so that the light reflects. To become everything he becomes nothing. -By Yazdan Raees @ Korean Monastery | Lumbini - Nepal

This is what should be done
By one who is skilled in goodness,
And who knows the path of peace:
Let them be able and upright,
Straightforward and gentle in speech.
Humble and not conceited,
Contented and easily satisfied.
Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.
Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful,
Not proud and demanding in nature.
Let them not do the slightest thing
That the wise would later reprove.
Wishing: In gladness and in saftey,
May all beings be at ease.
Whatever living beings there may be;
Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,
The great or the mighty, medium, short or small,
The seen and the unseen,
Those living near and far away,
Those born and to-be-born,
May all beings be at ease!
Let none deceive another,
Or despise any being in any state.
Let none through anger or ill-will
Wish harm upon another.
Even as a mother protects with her life
Her child, her only child,
So with a boundless heart
Should one cherish all living beings:
Radiating kindness over the entire world
Spreading upwards to the skies,
And downwards to the depths;
Outwards and unbounded,
Freed from hatred and ill-will.
Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down
Free from drowsiness,
One should sustain this recollection.
This is said to be the sublime abiding.
By not holding to fixed views,
The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision,
Being freed from all sense desires,
Is not born again into this world.

Gayatri

Om
Aum Bhur Bhuva Svah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yo Naha Prachodayat

You are omnipresent, omnipotent and mighty.
You are all light. You are all knowledge and bliss.
You are the destroyer of fear; You are creator of this universe,
You are the greatest of all. We bow and meditate upon your light.
You guide our intellect in the right direction.

Sahana vavatu

Om sahana vavatu sahanau bhunaktu
sahaveeryam karavavahai
tejas vinavati tamastuma vidhwishavahai
Om shanti shanti shantihi

Om, May divine protect us both (the teacher and the student),
May divine nourish us both,
May we work together with energy and vigour,
May our study be enlightening and not give rise to hostility,
Om peace, peace, peace

Sarve shaam

Om sarvesham swasti bhavatu,
sarvesham shantir bhavatu
sarvesham purnam bhavatu,
sarvesham mangalam bhavatu

Om sarve bhavantu sukhinah,
sarve santu niramayah
sarve bhadrani pashyantu,
ma kaschid-duhkha-bhagvate

May auspiciousness be unto all;
May peace be unto all;
May fullness be unto all;
May prosperity be unto all.

May all be happy;
May all be free from disabilities;
May all behold what is auspicious;
May none suffer from sorrow.

Asato ma

Om asato ma sadgamaya,
tamaso ma jyotir-gamaya
mrityor-ma amritam gamaya,
Om shantih shantih shantih.

Lead me from the unreal to the Real;
Lead me from darkness to the Light;
Lead me from mortality to Immortality.
Sacred peace (from within - the self),
peace (from around the self - environment),
peace( from beyond the self - the universe).

By Sufi Mystic Mawlana Jalal al-din Muḥammad Balkhi (Rumi)
Translated by Yazdan Raees & Erin Airout

Show me your face because seeing a flower garden is my desire
Open your lips because lots of sugar is my desire
The sun of goodness, come out of the clouds
Because that illuminated, shinning face is my desire
I heard from the air the sound of drums
I came back because meeting the king is my desire
You told me don’t bother me with your cuteness, go away
The way you told me that I should not bother you is my desire
And like that time that you told me go away, the king is not home
That manner and contention of the gatekeeper is my desire
In whosoever hands it resides, it remains without value in goodness
The jewel and the mine of sweetness is my desire
The bread and water of this mundane wheel, like a flood, is unfaithful
I am the fish I am the whale, the sea of Oman is my desire
Like Yaghob (Jacob), I am shouting “Vaa Asfehaa!” out of grief
Seeing my son, Yousef of Kanaan is my desire
I swear to god that without you this city becomes my prison
Leaving everything behind, wandering in the mountains and the desert is my desire
From these weak-rooted companions my heart is broken
The lion of the god and “Rostam e Dastaan” is my desire
My soul became tired of Pharoah and his cruelty
The light of the face of Moses son of Emran is my desire
From these complaining crying people I am tired
That “hawy and hui” and the shouting of the drunks is my desire
I have more to say that a nightingale but because of the jealousy of the public
There is a seal on my mouth and shouting is my desire
Last night the master with the light was roaming around the town
Saying “I am tiered of demons and angels, human is my desire
They said “You cannot find, we have already searched everywhere
The one that cannot be found is the one I desire
Although I am poor I don’t accept any agate
because that rare invaluable agate is my desire
hidden from the eyes but everything that can be seen comes from it
that visible art of the hidden one is my desire
my destiny has overcome each and every desire and craving
from material, from space, towards the pillar is my desire
my ears heard the story of devotion and became drunk
the kind of eyes that can see the face of fate and devotion is my desire
in one hand, a cup of wine, in the other the hair of the beloved
dancing like this in the center of circle is my desire
I am the lover of love and my love is for the lover
Those blessings, the scars of the merciful is my desire
The rest of this poem the subtle player
Imagine it like this because like this is my desire
Show your face Shams, the pride of Tabriz from the East
I am the bird Hod Hod, presence of Solomon is my desire
